Healthy Relationships
HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS
Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center works to promote healthy relationships and prevent violence and abuse among children and teens. Our Prevention Team works at the forefront of prevention and early intervention to break the cycle of abuse in young lives and prevent violence from happening. Our approach is built on an ecological, trauma-informed model that support youth who have already been exposed to violence, mobilizes youth leaders, and promotes safe communities.
The State of Texas’s Teen Dating Violence Policy (TX Education Code 37.0831) mandates that each school district in Texas adopt and implement a dating violence policy. Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center can help with compliance by training teachers and administrators and providing prevention education for students and parents with our award winning curriculum recognized by TAASA in 2010 with the Partners in Prevention Award.
Presentations are available to classrooms and after-school programs that meet SEL competencies.
Topics covered include:
• Healthy relationships
• Sexual harassment
• Dating violence
• Technology and abuse
